Not just a new design: This is what Suzuki’s new SUV looks like
New design, modernized ambience and soon also a full hybrid: No wonder that Suzuki is talking about a new car for the facelift for the SX4 S-Cross – and is therefore changing the name right away.
Suzuki has revised its compact SUV. The competitor of cars like VW T-Cross and Opel Mokka is available these days from 29,290 euros. However, not only appearance, ambience and equipment change, but also the name: the SX4 header is now deleted and the 4.30 meter long car is only sold as an S-Cross, the manufacturer said.
The optics have changed
The update can be recognized from the outside by a completely new design that is more robust and wants to emphasize the closeness to the off-road vehicle.
Inside, the five-door with the 430-liter trunk gets a modernized cockpit with a larger infotainment screen. This is also moving up and now wants to make maneuvering easier with an animated 360-degree display. In addition, the Japanese are now installing a cruise control that automatically keeps the distance.
Under the hood everything stays the same
Under the hood, however, progress will have to wait a little longer: at the start of sales there will only be the already familiar 1.4-liter petrol engine with 95 kW/129 hp and 235 Nm, which a 48-volt system makes into a mild hybrid.
Can be combined with manual or automatic transmission, front or all-wheel drive, it reaches up to 195 km/h and is satisfied with 5.3 liters at best. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 120 g/km. A new full hybrid drive, which Suzuki has announced for the second half of the year, is said to be more economical and at the same time more powerful.
