Belek tips. Explore the place on the Turkish Riviera / Belek Travel Guide: Belek Tips
It’s that time again and your next vacation is just around the corner. Are you considering spending your upcoming vacation in Belek? Then take a closer look at the Belek tips and let the popular bathing resort convince you. An eventful and at the same time relaxed Turkey holiday awaits you on site.
How to get to Belek?
The journey to Belek is characterized by good accessibility of the place and should therefore not be missing from my Belek tips. In about 3 hours flight time you reach the tourism center Antalya. From the airport in Antalya you can be in the resort in just over 30 minutes.
There are several transfer options from the airport. A package tour usually includes a transfer to the hotel. You can also reach Belek by taxi, airport transfer or public transport.
If you want to travel more independently and flexibly, I recommend booking a rental car in advance, which you can easily pick up at the airport. The car rental companies Europcar or Avis, among others, offer their services here. Take a look at the different prices on one of the comparison portals for rental cars in advance. Depending on the season and car class, you can get cheap offers of around €100 for a week.
My tip: Turkey is ideal for a short-term, last-minute vacation. So what are you waiting for? Book your trip spontaneously.
Best time to visit Belek / Belek Travel Guide
One always asks the question when is the best time to fly on vacation and which travel time is best for a vacation in Turkey. Therefore, the climate and weather in Belek should also be on the list of Belek tips.
Wonderful weather and endless hours of sunshine characterize the best travel time for Turkey. The Mediterranean climate and the mountain ranges of the Taurus Mountains ensure dry summers and mild winters. Basically, the months from May to October are the best travel time for a holiday in the region around Belek.
The hottest months are July and August with average temperatures around 34°C. These months are particularly suitable for a pure beach holiday in Belek. In the summer months you have to reckon with the temperatures quickly cracking the 40 °C mark.
In addition, the autumn months of September and October are particularly excellent for combining a holiday by the sea with an active holiday. There is a lot to discover at this time of year and you can explore fascinating places.
Places to Visit Belek
The town, surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests, is best known for its endless beaches, golf courses and thermal baths. There are also a large number of archaeological sites near Belek, which will make your holiday a diverse and unique experience.
There is so much more to explore in Belek and the surrounding area than spending the whole day at the beach. Let the following top sights in Belek convince you and decide on a trip to the Turkish Riviera.
Belek center / Belek Travel Guide
The lively center of Belek should not be missing from my list of Belek tips. Numerous restaurants, cafés, boutiques and markets invite you to stroll and relax. In the center of the resort, in the “Garden of Tolerance”, you can see how 3 of the world’s major religions live peacefully side by side.
On the square there is a church, a synagogue and a mosque. Get closer to the religion of Islam and visit this mosque in Beleks. My tip: Pay attention to the instructions and behave respectfully.
Amphitheater of Aspendos / Belek Tips
On one of your vacation days, you should definitely go to the ancient city of Aspendos, 20 minutes away. Here you can admire the Amphitheater of Aspendos, one of the best preserved Roman theaters. Let yourself be inspired by the completely preserved stage house and immerse yourself in the heyday of Roman rule at that time. The theater that belongs on my Belek tips is famous for its unique acoustics.
Ancient city of Perge
Would you like to discover more cultural places? Then make your way to the ancient city of Perge, which you can reach in a 30-minute drive from Belek. On site you have the chance to get an idea of the typical city features in the Roman Empire.
The excavations will inspire you and give you an idea of the former streets, city gates or baths of the once influential city. Visit the theatre, the stadium and the central market square.
Kursunlu Waterfall / Belek Travel Guide
You can combine your trip to the ancient city of Perge with a trip to the Kursunlu Waterfall. Do you long for idyll? Then this natural area is just right for you. On site you have the opportunity to spend a few relaxing hours and listen to the rushing water over a picnic.
Observe fish and sea turtles in their natural habitat, explore rock outcrops behind the waterfall or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere amidst beautiful landscapes. This excursion is definitely a welcome change from the classic beach holiday and an insider tip on my Belek tips.
Antalya / Belek Tips
You should definitely pay a visit to the city of Antalya. It will inspire you with a fantastic old town and some sights. Dive even deeper into the Turkish way of life!
The old town Kaleici impresses with narrow streets, old houses and remains from Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman times. Make your way through Hadrian’s Gate and let the diverse smells and impressions guide you through the streets.
What would a Turkey vacation be without a market? That’s why you should definitely visit the bazaar district of Antalya. Try fresh, regionally grown fruit and vegetables or buy a few souvenirs for your loved ones at home.
I also recommend that you take a short break in one of the cafés above the harbor wall and enjoy the view of Antalya’s marina. You can also visit the Düden waterfall on the rocks of the coast and be amazed by the breathtaking natural spectacle. So I’m intrigued, how about you guys?
Koprulu Canyon National Park / Belek Travel Guide
In a one-hour drive you reach the pristine Koprulu Canyon National Park, which promises an adventurous journey into original parts of Turkey. The center of the nature park is the Köprülü Canyon. Hike through cypress, oak or pine forests, discover special animal species and let yourself be enchanted by the Mediterranean flair of this area.
Are you in the mood for an adrenaline kick again? Then book a rafting tour, which promises a unique experience and lets you see the mountain river Koprücy from a completely different perspective. Paddle through wild gorges, swim in crystal-clear water or take a photo or two of an impressive landscape.
Leisure activities in Belek
In addition to excellent conditions for a relaxed beach holiday, Belek also offers opportunities to explore Turkey in a sporty way. The Taurus Mountains are not only breathtaking scenery for your beach holiday, but also offer you a wide variety of hiking trails.
Here you have the opportunity to observe small mountain villages, remote lakes or waterfalls and to immerse yourself in the idyll of this area. You will be impressed by the breathtaking nature of this area and you should not miss the Turkish hinterland. The Taurus Mountains are a must on the list of my Belek tips.
The holiday resort of Belek not only offers the best conditions for a luxury holiday, but is also always associated with great golf courses. The place is one of the most popular destinations for a golf break in Turkey. The Golf Eldorado offers you the best conditions for an unforgettable and unique holiday with fantastic golf courses and first-class hotels.
You can also spend a wonderful family holiday in the Mediterranean town. The bathing paradise on the Turkish Riviera attracts with clean beaches and turquoise water. The best beaches in Belek offer you a variety of offers, such as various water sports.
Bokazkent Beach is a mostly natural dune landscape in the western part, which offers you opportunities to retreat and provides enough space for families in the eastern area. One of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey is the extensive Denizkent Beach, which is largely deserted and quiet. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, then you should make your way to this stretch of beach by car.
Ever wanted to spend a few hours in a Turkish bath? Then take the opportunity and visit one of these during your Belek vacation. A traditional wellness method is used in a hammam, which includes a steam bath and various massage techniques. This original cleansing ritual of the Orient will give you a pleasant moment of well-being.
Eating and drinking in Belek / Belek Tips
The hotels on site are completely dedicated to all-inclusive holidays and usually offer you the opportunity to choose between international and Turkish cuisine in various restaurants. But if you still feel like spending an evening outside of your hotel complex or are making an individual trip, then I can recommend a few regional restaurants.
In the town center you will find small Turkish restaurants that serve you a large selection of different dishes. You should especially try the Turkish meze, which is served with typical ingredients and oriental spices. Especially the Cafe Istanbul Restaurant Belek, the Deniz Restaurant or Al Abir Live Lebanon are worth a visit.

Cleopatra Beach in Alanya: Travel Guide
Legends Zone Belek
Belek is located in the middle of a rich water basin known as Pamphylia in ancient times. Pamphylia, which means “the place where all tribes live”, is an important geography that has been popular since ancient times, as its name suggests. Researches conducted in Pamphylia show that civilization in these lands dates back to the Paleolithic age.
You can come across mysterious traces of history in Belek, which is 17 km from Aspendos, 30 km from Perge and 15 km from Sillyon, the important cities of the Pamphylia region. Belek, the gateway to civilizations with its ancient identity, is a fascinating tourism paradise that takes place in the memories and hearts of millions of people.
Belek’s Entrance to the Tourism Scene
The mass tourism movement, which started in Belek Tourism Center in 1984, diversified with golf tourism in the 90s and took its current form as of 2006. The Tourism Encouragement Law enacted in 1982 is of great importance in terms of directing tourism. Because with this law, the development of the tourism industry was supported by a legal regulation. After the law, investment activities increased especially on the southern coasts and Antalya turned into a center of attraction with its diversity of resources and favorable climate. After all these developments, Belek Tourism Center emerged as an important sub-center of the East Antalya Tourism Development Project.
The boundaries of Belek as a tourism center were first determined in 1984, and it was aimed that this center should serve mass tourism completely. The first planning work at Belek Tourism Center was prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was approved by the Serik Municipality in 1986. With the aforementioned master development plan, Belek was divided into two regions as East and West on 21 July 1986.
Accordingly, Batı Belek included the Third Kum Tepesi and Taşlıburun locations. Two campsites of approximately 25 hectares and a capacity of 900 units and accommodation facilities of 45 hectares and 4,500 beds were planned on the Third Sand Hill. In Taşlıburun, it was envisaged to build an accommodation unit with a bed capacity of 7,200 on an area of 72 hectares. East Belek, on the other hand, included the Pier, Ileribasi and Acısu locations. A camping area of 9 hectares and a capacity of 324 units, accommodation facilities of 49 hectares and a bed capacity of 4,900 were planned in Iskele. Public Institutions Education and Recreation Facilities Area with 840 bed capacity, social tourism area with 10 thousand 973 bed capacity and 15 hectares of daily area in Ileribaşı; In Acısu, a bed capacity of 5,750 was proposed on 57.5 hectares. In addition, it was envisaged that there would be a regional park between Aksu and Beşgöz creeks, where the flora and fauna of the region would be protected and the local people could use it for recreational purposes.
The first investments in Belek Tourism Center started in 1987. In line with the Environmental Plan, the bed capacity of the parcels determined as “Tourism facility area” was arranged as 650. On July 23, 1989, the implementation development plan was approved and the total capacity was determined as 14 thousand 950. This rapid development of the tourism industry has inevitably brought along infrastructure problems. Belek Tourism Investors Association was established in 1989 in order to solve the infrastructure problems in Belek Tourism Center with the cooperation of the state and private sector. With its short name, BETUYAB was a union brought to life by tourism investors who received the first allocations.
In 1990, the boundaries of Belek Tourism Center were expanded; Belek and Kadriye (Akkınlar) settlements were also included in this scope. The purpose of this expansion was to ensure the controlled and planned development of Belek and Kadriye, which are located in the back area, in parallel with the planned tourism development in the coastal and forest areas behind it.
The mass tourism movement, which started in Belek Tourism Center in 1984, diversified with golf tourism in the 90s. With the planning made in 2004, all allocations within the scope of the tourism center were completed and almost all of the facilities became operational except for a few facilities under construction. With the expansion of a new border in 2006, the borders of Belek Tourism Center took their current form.
