The Costa de la Luz beaches are simply gorgeous. Everyone who loves the sea, the beach and the sand under their feet should have vacationed in Andalusia and discovered the beaches of the Atlantic.

If you’ve read my other articles on the TUI Blog, you know how much I love the beach, sun and sea. A holiday on the Costa de la Luz is absolutely ideal for all beach boys and beach girls. Here you can discover some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Today I will introduce you to my personal top 5 Costa de la Luz beaches.

The special thing about the beaches on the Costa de la Luz is the diversity: most of the beaches are kilometers long and invite you to endless walks on the beach. But there are also smaller beaches and bays. I like change and variety and will take you with me on my beach hopping on the Costa de la Luz beaches.

Once you’ve been there, you’ll always come back. The beaches of the Costa de la Luz are simply incredibly beautiful.

Top 1: Playa de Alemanes

My favorite beach is south of Zahara de los Atunes. Slightly embedded, it almost looks like a bay, which keeps the wind away and makes the sea seem calmer. On a hill to the left is an old lighthouse from which you can see an overview of the bay.

🌅 My tip: you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets from the lighthouse.

Top 2: Calas de Roche

This great beach is near Novo Sancti Petri. It consists of many smaller bays. My favorite section is the Cala del Pato. You notice the ebb and flow here in particular. At low tide, the water reveals abstract rock formations and you can just stroll from bay to bay. It’s a natural beach. There are no restaurants or toilets here.

Top 3: Playa de Bolonia

This four kilometer long sandy beach is a real insider tip. Surfers meet in the east of the beach – this is particularly suitable for beginners, as it is a little more sheltered – and in the north of the beach you can swim and climb the shifting dune. The view from the top over the whole beach is beautiful. There are also two small restaurants where you can stop for lunch or enjoy the sunset in the evening.

🟡 Baelo Claudia: more than 2,000 years ago this was an important trading town. The ruins of houses, streets and columns are still very well preserved today. You can also visit a museum. In any case, the experience is unique: well-preserved Roman ruins in front of a blue sea and a great beach. An absolute experience.

Top 4: Playa del Palmar

Playa del Palmar starts right next to Conil. Beach as far as the eye can see. Here you can walk over three kilometers on the beach. At 50 meters wide, it seems almost endless. Everyone will find their favorite section here. The surf schools come in the morning and afternoon, where you can watch the students doing their first attempts on the board. There are some bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Top 5: Playa la Barrosa

This dream beach is over six kilometers long and 100 meters wide. It is as popular with locals as it is with tourists staying in one of the top hotels right on the coast. There are many beach bars here for ice cream, snacks and sunset dinners. This beach is particularly suitable for families. Here you can walk about 25 meters into the water before it gets deep. The sand is fine.
