That’s why you should definitely update Google Chrome
Google closes numerous security gaps in its Chrome Internet browser that could be used for cyber attacks. Updating the browser is strongly recommended.
Google has updated its Chrome browser. The update closes eleven vulnerabilities that cybercriminals were able to use for attacks from the Internet. The vulnerabilities were discovered by security experts and reported to Google.
The company has not yet published any information about the exact risk situation in order to give system administrators and private users enough time to download and install the update with the important bug fixes.
What is known: Eight of the eleven vulnerabilities were given a high warning level in the official blog. The threats users were exposed to were not explained in detail. Nevertheless, Google recommends every user to update the Chrome browser to the new version as soon as possible.
Update Chrome – Here’s how
In most cases, updates run in the background as users close and reopen the browser. However, these can also be carried out manually at any time.
If you are not yet using the current version 100.0.4896.88 of the Internet browser, you should urgently initiate an update and install the latest version.
This is how you can find out the current version number and initiate a manual update of the browser:
Open Chrome on the computer.
Open the menu at the top right using the three vertical dots.
Click Help, then click About Google Chrome.
Click on “Update Google Chrome”. If you don’t see this button, the latest version is already installed.
Now restart the browser. You can do this using the “Restart” button or simply by closing and reopening the browser.
On the official website, Google explains exactly how updates for Chrome work and how they can be installed on smartphones and mobile devices without delay.
